Coronavirus: Consecrating Your Body With The Holy Communion

As the world continues to grapple with this killer virus amongst us, four months after, it is still not clear how, if and when there would be a cure. Meanwhile the virus persist in inflicting its poison on lives and communities. Amidst this uncertainty, there is good news; the protection and healing available in the Holy Communion. The Holy Communion is usually taken to commemorate the Last Supper, in which bread and wine are consecrated and consumed. And though it is done to remember Christ’s death by crucifixion (Luke 22:19-20) as Jesus himself encouraged his disciples to do it in memory of him while referring to the bread as “my body” and the wine as “the new covenant in my blood”, but whenever the Holy Communion is being performed, there is a renewal of life. In simple words, the Holy Communion can serve as a shield against Coronavirus from entering the body and someone already infected by this virus could receive healing. There must however be an expectant faith. In other words, you must believe that you will receive protection or healing by God’s power and God’s power alone. According to Jesus himself, “most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you” John 6:53.There is therefore healing available when you partake in the holy communion in remembrance of what Jesus did on the cross, Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed”. You can renew your covenant in the blood of Jesus today, and believe (very important) with full expectancy that you will not be infected with coronavirus or any other disease for that matter. Shalom.
