Our world is troubled, ahead of us is an unknown future, for some there is no tomorrow, for others it can’t come quickly enough. You may be struck down by your circumstances; health challenges, marital woes, family troubles, whatever it is, It takes faith to believe in the empty tomb just as a child might believe in the bunny. We live in a wonderful but deeply strange world that is at times uncaring, unforgiving, cruel, and devoid of second chances. Easter offers the assurance that the many difficulties and challenges that threaten to overwhelm us will be overcome. Easter could not have come at a better time, in the current climate of health crisis brought by the novel coronavirus, you can share in the sense of hope that Easter brings, it also brings with it peace, atonement and renewal of life. You may not believe in God, you may have your doubt, but the Easter message of hope should bolster your desire to live a fulfilled life.
Each one of us has an invitation from God to believe in him, to settle our lives firmly in his presence and love. This invitation is prescribed in the book of John 3:16 “for God so love the world, that he gave his one and only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him would not perish but have everlasting life”. The first step to finding hope in this Easter season is to stop and reflect on the love that is being offered to us every second of our lives by God, we know this already but we need to become aware of it again. If you have ignored God for too long, this Easter offers another opportunity to give him a chance, yes God is not imposing himself on you, He’s simply asking that you give him a chance. When you feel overwhelmed and fearful, you can take just a few minute’s break and remind yourself that Jesus is with you right now, in your pain. “Cast your burden unto Jesus for he cares for you” Psalm 55:22.
The message from Christ the King – Easter was the beginning of hope for all! That hope continues on to today and in the future, Christ stands, waiting and willing for you to come to him, to entrust your lives to His care, He is more than able to do more than you imagine.
